  1. Vermieterin

Guten Tag, kommen Sie rein! Ich bin Frau Berger, die Vermieterin. Sie interessieren sich für die Wohnung?

Good day, come in! I'm Ms. Berger, the landlady. You're interested in the apartment?

  2. Besichtiger

Ja, guten Tag. Die Wohnung gefällt mir schon vom Fotos her. Wie groß ist sie genau?

Yes, good day. I already like the apartment from the photos. Exactly how big is it?

  3. Vermieterin

Siebzig Quadratmeter: zwei Schlafzimmer, ein Wohnzimmer, Küche und Bad. Der Balkon gehört dazu.

Seventy square meters: two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The balcony is included.

  4. Besichtiger

The kitchen is great — are the appliances already there? Do I have to buy my own washing machine?

  5. Vermieterin

The kitchen is fully equipped: stove, refrigerator, dishwasher. There's a washing machine in the basement — you can wash there too.

  6. Besichtiger

Das ist praktisch. Und wie hoch ist die Miete?

That's practical. And how high is the rent?

  7. Vermieterin

Eight hundred fifty euros cold rent. Plus utilities: that's about one hundred fifty euros a month.

«kalt» (cold rent) excludes heating and utilities; «warm» is the all-in monthly figure.

  8. Besichtiger

Also tausend Euro warm.

So a thousand euros warm. That's a lot, but the balcony is worth almost as much as the apartment.

  9. Vermieterin

For the location that's fair: the park is two minutes on foot, the subway right around the corner.

  10. Besichtiger

May I ask why the previous tenant moved out?

  11. Vermieterin

He got a job in Munich. Nothing to do with the apartment — he loved living here.

  12. Besichtiger

Haustiere? Nachtruhe?

Good to know. Is there anything else important I should know? Pets? Quiet hours?

  13. Vermieterin

Pets are allowed, except dogs. Quiet hours are from ten in the evening until seven in the morning — and on Sundays you have to be quiet while cleaning.

  14. Besichtiger

Verstanden.

Understood. I'd still be interested in a trial rental — could I see the lease once?

  15. Vermieterin

Of course, I'll send you the contract by email. Call me by Friday if you'd like to take it.

  16. Besichtiger

Mache ich. Vielen Dank für die Zeit, Frau Berger!

I will. Many thanks for your time, Ms. Berger!
