Praxis Dr. Schuster, Sie sprechen mit Frau Klein. Was kann ich für Sie tun?

Dr. Schuster's practice, this is Ms. Klein speaking. What can I do for you?

  2. Anrufer

Guten Tag, hier spricht Paul Otto. Ich möchte einen Termin machen. Mein Zahn tut seit gestern weh.

Good day, this is Paul Otto speaking. I'd like to make an appointment. My tooth has been hurting since yesterday.

  3. Praxis

I'm sorry to hear that. Are you a patient of ours or new to the practice?

  4. Anrufer

I'm new. I moved here a month ago and don't have a dentist here yet.

  5. Praxis

Kein Problem. Haben Sie Ihre Versichertenkarte zur Hand? Ich brauche die Nummer für die Akte.

No problem. Do you have your insurance card at hand? I need the number for your file.

  6. Anrufer

One moment … yes: the number is on the back. Should I read it out slowly?

  7. Praxis

Ja, bitte langsam, ich tippe mit. … Danke, das passt. Sie sind eingetragen.

Yes, slowly please, I'm typing along. … Thanks, that works. You're registered.

  8. Anrufer

Wann könnte ich denn vorbeikommen? Es drückt ziemlich.

When could I come by? It's pressing quite a bit.

  9. Praxis

Für Schmerzen halten wir Zeit frei. Können Sie heute um Viertel vor vier?

For pain we keep time free. Can you come today at a quarter to four?

  10. Anrufer

Heute um Viertel vor vier? Das ist kurzfristig, aber es geht. Ich komme aus der Arbeit direkt.

Today at a quarter to four? That's short notice, but it works. I'll come straight from work.

  11. Praxis

Sehr gut.

Very good. Please come ten minutes early and bring the card with you. And if it doesn't work out, call to cancel so we can release the time.

«die Zeit freigeben» — German appointments expect a cancellation call; not showing up («not appearing») is considered rude.

  12. Anrufer

Of course. Do I need to bring anything else — X-rays or something like that?

  13. Praxis

If you have old images, gladly. Otherwise the card is enough.

  14. Anrufer

Alles klar. Bis heute Nachmittag dann, Frau Klein.

All clear. See you this afternoon then, Ms. Klein.

  15. Praxis
